a little bit about me…
I’ve been curious about death & dying for many years. Somehow I’ve felt comfortable in uncomfortable spaces.
And I’ve had my heart grow - through pain and love - as I’ve lost friends and family so dear to me. Some of whom had the beautiful peaceful storybook dying process, and others that were abrupt and undone - and all the in-betweens. They have shaped my view of and my desire to crack open more conversation.
Every day for 10 years in my coaching practice, I’ve offered space and encouragement for individuals as they navigate professional transitions. The End of Life process is life’s biggest transition – and a one-time endeavor. So I added some more tools to my toolbox, including certifications as an End of Life Doula from University of Vermont, as an Advance Care Planning Facilitator from Five Wishes, as a Death Literacy Educator from pioneering doula Francesca Arnoldy, and as a hospice volunteer with Chicago’s JourneyCare.
The overlap between my skills, my passion, my interest, my comfort – it all leads me to right here. I truly believe that when we open up this conversation, all of our hearts grow. Our honest open dialogue enriches our lives today. Using this universal experience to teach us more presence and allowing for joy, connection and support.
I’m a tree-hugger, a very long walker, and a big fan of Celebration Dahlias. I use colored markers regularly and inartistically, and have been known to buy all the flavors of Jeni’s Ice Cream when there’s a 50% off sale. More details are in my bio on my coaching website karyntcoaching.com and my blog posts there. Looking forward to seeing how our paths may cross.
